Submission Status for 2026 Research Symposium: Closed

  • Eligibility

    • First author must be either:

      • An active Southwest Healthcare MEC resident/fellow or fellow in good standing

      • An active Western University of Pomona, UCR, or CUSM medical student in good standing

      • An active Loma Linda Murrieta, Kaiser Riverside, or Riverside Community Hospital resident in good standing

        • *LLM, Kaiser and RCH residents are only eligible to submit to the “Clinical Research” category

    • Original abstracts that either have or have not been presented at other meetings will be considered

    • Abstracts are eligible if they have been published; however, abstracts based upon full papers that have been published are not eligible.

    • Abstracts previously submitted to the Southwest Healthcare Research Symposium (formerly the SoCal MEC Research Symposium) are not eligible

    • All QI and Research submissions must have appropriate IRB review (approval, exemption, or formal determination of non–human subjects research) prior to submission

  • Submission Process

    • Before submitting your abstract, please review the entire page below to ensure appropriate abstract submission

    • Abstract submission Deadline: February 20th, 2026

    • All submissions will evaluated by our review committee and acceptance notifications will be sent to submitters by March 13th, 2026.

    • Accepted submissions will be selected for either oral presentation, or poster presentation based on discretion of the scoring committee

  • Word limit for abstract submission is 350 words and DOES NOT include the words, “Background, Methods, Results, Conclusion, etc”

  • Please note that no tables or figures will be allowed in the 2026 abstract submission process
